Dr Siraj Salahudeen qualified as a medical doctor in 1999 and has worked as a psychiatrist for more than 20 years. He was awarded the membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2007. Having completed his higher training in Adult and Old Age Psychiatry from the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery, he took up a Consultant post at the North West Boroughs NHS Trust initially before moving to North Staffordshire in 2015. He has since worked as a consultant psychiatrist at the North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. He is the lead consultant for ECT and Perinatal Psychiatry. He is in the General Medical Council’s specialist register with a dual Certificate of completion of Training (CCT) in adult and old age psychiatry.
Dr Salahudeen offers assessment and treatment for a range of mental health conditions including mood and anxiety disorders as well as psychotic disorders. During his higher training he was involved in a clinical trial in adult ADHD patients. He has since undergone extensive training in diagnosing and treating Adult ADHD. He also offers structured specialist diagnostic assessment for patients with suspected ADHD.
Dr Salahudeen has a keen interest in medical education and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education from Staffordshire University in 2013. He is a honorary clinical lecturer in Psychiatry within the Keele University School of Medicine and also the Deputy Hospital Dean. He is also a Royal College of Psychiatrists examiner.
