Dr Gaurav Kohli is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC) UK having gained a CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
He is registered with GMC with a current license to practice. He is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK by examination.
He has special experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders in children and adolescents. He provides treatment for a broad range of psychiatric disorders using biopsychosocial approaches.
He is an expert in ADHD in child and adolescent populations and has a special interest in Autism. He is trained in ADOS 2, and ADI-R. Two leading evidence based diagnostic tools for diagnosing Autism.
He has worked for 12 years as Lead Clinician in CAMHS (independent sector and NHS) and 7 years as Clinical Director in CAMHS (independent sector) and has very good understanding of safeguarding of children and was named Doctor for Child Safeguarding in the organisation for 5 years.
His work has involved appraising other Consultant Psychiatrists.
His research has been on “Stability of diagnosis of Autism” at The Winicott Centre, at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.
In his consultant career, he has treated 100s of young people with complex mental health problems.
Dr Kohli regularly attend conferences, national and international, to keep himself up to date with trends in Child and Adolescent psychiatry.
He is multilingual and offers appointments in English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.”
